Our Analysis and Test Results
Maxi-Cosi is one of several brands within the Dorel Juvenile, a Canadian company that designs and manufactures juvenile products and other items. They have several manufacturing facilities and offices around the world. Maxi-Cosi is best known for car seats and strollers, but they also make other baby products to help parents manage everyday life.
Performance Comparison
Likes
While the Maxi-Cosi 2-in-1 Kori doesn't perform as well as the front-runners, it's a good option for keeping your baby calm or entertained, and it's reasonably priced.
The seat can rock or be stationary, and the removable insert is soft and comfortable for little ones. The harness is easy to access and fasten. The buckles are slightly hidden, but we think this is an advantage as the harness material acts as a buffer and can help reduce the chance of accidentally pinching your baby's skin when buckling.
We appreciate that the Maxi-Cosi seat cover is machine washable and tumble dryable, which makes cleaning a breeze. This is important to us, considering the mess babies can make, like diaper blowouts and spit-up.
The Maxi-Cosi folds compactly and is lightweight, making it easy to store or transport for those times when you want to reclaim your living space. However, the sleek and stylish design makes it a seat that you may not mind having around.
It offers three different height positions so you can choose the best sitting angle for your baby's age and needs. With no assembly required, your little one will be rocking in no time.
Dislikes
Users mention that the seat's faux wood trimming can easily scratch over time. We did not experience this on the bouncer we purchased for testing, but we did notice that the quality of this material is not top-notch.
Slight movements from your baby will create a small rocking motion, performing best on hard surfaces compared to carpeting. The rocking range is moderate but doesn't deliver as much thrill or movement as some higher-end bouncers. You may also have to adjust to the Maxi-Cosi sitting lower to the floor when moving it manually.
What holds the Maxi-Cosi back from scoring higher in ease of cleaning is the cover's multi-step process it takes to get the seat cover on and off. It involves a zipper, snaps, and Velcro, and it's a two-hand process. Before washing, you'll also need to remove the rigid board that sits under the seat.
Should You Buy the Maxi-Cosi 2-in-1 Kori Rocker?
If your baby likes more movement or entertainment, this seat may not be for them, and we suggest you look into other top-ranking baby bouncers. However, if you can accept its shortcomings, it will give your baby a comfortable place to sit while they observe the world around them. It's also travel-friendly, and those who prefer a less-is-more approach to parenting may appreciate this Maxi-Cosi seat.
What Other Baby Bouncers Should You Consider?
The award-winning BabyBjorn Bouncer Balance Soft and Ergobaby 3-in-1 Evolve Bouncer are hard to beat, being the top performers in just about every metric we tested. They are pricey, but we recommend looking into these options if you're not limited by budget. Alternatively, the Baby Delight Alpine Deluxe is a less expensive, middle-of-the-road contender that may still meet your needs.
