Pros | Excelent organization, comfortable carry, under the radar design | Beautiful design with thoughtful features, multi-use, heavy-duty hardware | Easy-to-access interior, great price, nice exterior organization | Storage, lay flat design, machine washable changing pad | Compact, easy to use, travel-friendly |
Cons | Only one carry style, expensive, annoying straps | Heavy, expensive, zipper problems | Lacks inner pockets, straps uncomfortable | Location of integrated wipes pocket, heavy | Only room for 1 cloth diaper (compared to 4-6 disposable diapers) |
Bottom Line | An abundance of pockets offer excellent organization, but with difficult-to-adjust straps | A thoughtful bag that is multi-functional and stylish, but it is expensive and heavy | This easy-to-clean and practical bag has a unique stay-open feature that makes access simple but is not as comfortable to carry | A dad-centric bag with enough space to pack everything for every occasion or if you have multiple children | A convenient well-made traveling changer with only enough room for the bare necessities |

Our Analysis and Test Results
Business partners Joe Croft and Kristin Hunziker began the Ju-Ju-Be company in Southern California, intending to create a diaper bag to help ease the parenthood journey. Ju-Ju-Be first introduced its quality line of diaper bags in 2005 and has since been offering unique features such as anti-stain treatment and machine washability in all their bags. With top-notch organization and a lifetime guarantee, Ju-Ju-Be bags have been a crowd favorite for over 15 years.

The Ju-Ju-Be Be Right Back is one of our favorite diaper bags to date. Although it only has an average number of pockets, they are all perfectly sized and situated. With an abundance of cool features like elastic straps and large, center-zip pockets, the organization of this bag is unparalleled. Paired with its memory foam carry straps and high-quality construction, we love to use this bag day in and day out. When packed with all the items from our list of essentials, we found a perfect spot for everything and still had room to spare. We even found ourselves searching for more things to put in the extra pockets.
Features unique to most Ju-Ju-Be bags include crumb pockets, a memory foam changing pad, an Agion-treated inner lining that resist bacteria, mold, and mildew, and a waterproof exterior with a stain-resistant Teflon treatment. All materials are free of PVC. If you need one more reason to love this bag, the whole thing is machine washable. Babies are messy, and diaper bags are there for it all; blowouts, spit-up, spilled milk, and the last thing you want to worry about is how you will clean your diaper bag.
Another Ju-Ju-Be specialty is the parent pocket. True to form, the Be Right Back has one of the best parent pockets among the bags in our selection. An easily accessible zippered pocket on the front of the bag includes a key clip, a super soft sunglasses pocket, and a variety of mesh pouches and zippered pockets perfect for smaller items like lip balm, wallet, phone, and other essentials. We love that this bag is functional for your baby and can reduce the parent's load by eliminating the need for a purse or another way to stash essentials.
The Be Right Back has zippers that reach all the way around the bag, resulting in an ultra-wide opening that lays the contents out for display. You can stuff the pack to its limits without worrying about digging through a mess later. It is all easily and immediately accessible. This feature reminds us somewhat of a suitcase, and we love the added level of usability.
Dislikes
There is a lot to love about the Be Right Back diaper bag; however, there are a few limiting features. It can only be carried backpack-style, and most other options we tested offer various carrying methods. However, the carry method is a personal preference, and we did not find this bag any less comfortable for its lack of options. The numerous compartments can come in handy, but you could get lost in the pockets if you're not careful. We recommend choosing a dedicated pocket for your items so that as you use your bag, it will become automatic to reach for the right pocket at the right time.
We also had some trouble with the shoulder strap adjustment. The hardware is minimalistic and not easy to loosen, and we found that the two rings would often get crossed when tightening the straps. We were surprised by the difficulty of this process, as everything else about the Be Right Back was smoothly functional and very user-friendly.
The Be Right Back is available in many fun colors and prints, and you can select a basic unisex design that both parent or caregiver will feel comfortable carrying. This practical bag is on the smaller side of the diaper bag spectrum, so you don't have to be worried about weighing yourself down by overloading it. Although, you may have to be pickier about what diapering items you pack. It is similar in size to the Ju-Ju-Be B.F.F., but when we pack the two bags side by side, the Be Right Back does not fit quite as many supplies.
Should You Buy the Ju-Ju-Be Be Right Back?
The Ju-Ju-Be Be Right Back is a great diaper bag we love to use, and we would recommend it to almost every parent. The organization is unbeatable and high-quality construction along with a lifetime warranty from Ju-Ju-Be means that you will be able to use this bag through multiple children; perhaps even passing it on after your kids are out of diapers. You can't go wrong with the Be Right Back if you seek a practical diaper bag that's just right for you and your baby's needs.
What Other Diaper Bags Should You Consider?
The Ju-Ju-Be B.F.F is another high-ranking and high-quality diaper bag. It offers three carrying options (something the Be Right Back doesn't), so parents who plan on sharing the diaper bag but have different carrying style preferences may be interested in this option. If your budget is smaller, you might consider the Skip Hop Mainframe Wide Open that cost significantly less and could be all you need in a diaper bag.
