Performance Comparison
Baby's Comfort
The Sash holds tiny testers close and most seemed content during testing. The fabric is soft, and there are no hard edges or thick support causing stress on little bodies. However, the lack of support and design can also mean that longer journies result in lack of support for little bodies as well. While the Sash may work well for quick trips, it may not offer what little ones need for longer adventures.
Parent's Comfort
The Sash is just below the average for the group for parent comfort and has the style advantage of fitting most parent body types thanks to the tie attachment. The wide lightly padded straps are comfortable and avoid putting too much pressure on a small space. However, for longer journies, it can get uncomfortable and larger little ones can be harder to carry.
Ease of Use
This carrier is simple and easy to use. It doesn't have any buckles or adjustments to hassle with thanks to the tie style straps. There are some mystery loops on the carrier that the manual doesn't discuss and we never did sort out what they were for, but it seemed to work fine without them. This lack of information makes the manual less than stellar, and we think it should include information for all of the features the carrier provides. However, what hurts the Sash's score is that you can't fully put the carrier on before you put the baby in and you need to support the baby while you arrange the straps and tie them. This method can be more difficult than you think.
Ease of Cleaning
The Sash is machine washable, but it can't go in the dryer. You need to hang it to dry, but it should dry faster than the thicker soft structured carriers with a lot of padding and internal support. It isn't the best for spot cleaning on the go should you get something on the carrier, which hurt its cleaning score.
